CODE OF CONDUCT
1. MISSION OBJECTIVE
The primary goal of the USS Amazônia is to craft compelling stories, foster deep character development, and provide an engaging collaborative environment. We are here to explore the unknown and enjoy the creative process together.
2. (2-2-2) CONTENT RATING
We adhere to a "PG" rating. While our stories may tackle dark, mature, or thought-provoking themes consistent with our setting, we do not permit explicit content, gratuitous/graphic violence or the like. As a rule of thumb: if it wouldn't air on a televised Star Trek afternoon rerun, it doesn't belong in your post either.
3. RESPECT & INCLUSION
The Amazônia is a safe space for all writers. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination, bullying, harassment, or hateful speech. Professionalism, grace and kindness are expected in all Out-of-Character (OOC) interactions. Furthermore, we ask that members refrain from using the community as a platform to browbeat others with personal politics. While respectful discourse is permitted, aggressive proselytizing or browbeating is not.
4. ATTENDANCE & COMMUNICATION
- Activity: Writers are expected to post regularly and respond to tags in a reasonable amount of time.
- Absences: If Real Life interferes, please notify Command. Absences under two weeks are "Leave of Absence" (LOA); over two weeks are "Extended Leave" (ELOA).
- Joint Posts (JPs): Always inform your writing partners if you cannot continue a JP and plan accordingly. In cases of unannounced disappearance, Command reserves the right to wrap up the JP to keep the story moving.
- Inactivity: After two months of silence and failed contact attempts, a character will be marked inactive and their position reopened.
5. CHARACTER AUTONOMY
Respect the "consent-to-write" rule. Never write for another player's character or a designated NPC without explicit permission. When collaborating on characters, establish clear boundaries beforehand to avoid friction.
6. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Always assume "mistake before malice." If a conflict arises:
- Direct Outreach: Attempt to resolve the issue privately and politely with the other writer.
- Mediation: If the issue persists or is severe, contact Command Staff. We are here to help find a fair solution for everyone involved.
7. DISCORD & ONBOARDING
- Discord Requirement: All members are required to join our Discord server for OOC coordination, plotting, and community announcements.
- Application Process: As part of the onboarding process, Command will contact all applicants via Discord. This conversation is meant to ensure that the player's expectations align with the vision and tone of the Amazônia.
